Current Construction Projects
Spring/Summer 2022:
The below infrastructure projects will improve water quality, increase water production at the Tyngsboro Well Field, improve water flow and pressure for the residents of Tyngsboro and provide redundancy of the water system. Dracut Water Supply District thanks you for your cooperation and patience during your water system improvement projects.
16" Water Transmission Main: Installation of the new 16" water transmission main by Albanese D&S is complete. Final paving is scheduled at the end of July. This is to allow the work done in April 2022 to settle for a minimum of 3 months as required by the specs.
State Forest Water Storage Tank: Work on the State Forest Tank by Preload started in July of 2021. The old tank was taken offline and demolished and the new foundation and walls were poured before worked stopped for the winter. Work resumed in May and the walls are scheduled to be raised 5/25/22. The 64 ft tank is scheduled to be online in August of this summer.
Water Treatment Plant: The groundbreaking of the new water treatment plant to remove iron and manganese took place on 5/19/22. The plant is scheduled to be completed in June of 2023.
Spring/Summer 2021: Work will begin on the below main upgrade on Monday May 10, 2021. The awarding contractor Albanese D&S will be starting on Tyngsboro Rd at Stewart St and working towards the Dracut/Tyngsboro line.
Water Treatment Plant: Capital Improvement Plans - The below link contains important information regarding some upcoming Capital Improvement Plans the District is hoping to accomplish in the coming years. Summer/Fall 2017 - Under sized mains have recently been upgraded on Gilmore St, Harlem St, Sparks St, Park Terrace, Parkvale Terrace, Park Ave, Vermont Ave, Beacon St and Lakeview Terrace. Work will be finalized in the Spring 2018.
The District is continuing to redevelop and replace 2 of our wells at the Tyngsboro Well Field location. These upgrades will improve water quality. We anticipate the first of the new wells to be online in the Summer 2018
Summer/Fall 2018 Aqualine Utility has recently completed replacing aging infrastructure with a new water main from the State Forest Storage Tank on Tyngsboro Rd to the Varnum Ave Pump Station.
